Summer's almost here, June 19th meeting
Our last meeting before the summer is for Lorrie Moore's Birds of America. I haven't updated for a bit.
If you're wondering what happened with the Swimming Pool Library by Alan Hollinghurst, we can all describe in one word - gay. Think of the gayest thing you're read: James Baldwin, Camille Paglia or maybe Truman Capote and then toss in lube. I don't mean like when a 13 year old boy says "gay," I mean late 70s, indiscriminate sex in a club bathroom gay. It was truly, an assault to the senses but it was well written.
